Is there an updated way of getting whatever is on my phone display on the navigation screen?

Unfortunately, not that I know of. Only hack I know is if you have the DVD player in your car.

If you can find an a/v cable to stream from your phone to aux it can be done but many aftermarket cable connections claim they're compatible but don't are not, I purchased a few cables and none worked for video on my androids!! I have heard of iPhone having a direct apple made cable connection to stream through aux you can check an Apple store to get exact part since Internet will not be as reliable to confirm they'll work.
