Chris6805:

I recently purchased a 2010 Nissan Murano LE. It had nav system and sun roof when purchased so did not come with video. I had video installed in back for kids and had an additional dvd player installed in front in the console between the seats. The video plays on the nav screen but only when the car is in park and not moving. I can hook up a portable dvd player and set it on dash and will play thru the speakers but can't use dvd player I installed unless I am sitting still. Tried to circumvent the e-brake with a switch but it only resulted in the dvd playing when sitting still. When you start moving it says video will continue when car is stopped. Can't find anyone to modify so it will play while moving. Further when the switch is flipped to circumvent the e-brake so it will play and you are driving the sound plays with no picture and I get a constant warning ( a dinging noise and dash light ) telling me the e-brake is on. Evidently my attempt to circumvent the e-brake did not work, and the speed sensor needs to be circumvented as well. Is there a way to modify so the video will play while driving and still be able to use nav when I need to and not have my car telling me constantly that the e- brake is on? Anyone out there have any suggestions or knowledge on how to fix this problem. Since I installed my dvd player in front not sure if different directions are necessary. Does play thru nav screen when sitting still though. Please could use help.

You need to over-ride both VSS (vehicle speed sensor) and the e-brake. Read at this thread:

Correct! You need to override the VSS wire going to the back of the AV unit as well as the Parking Brake wire. Problem will instantly be solved. Let me know if you have any questions, I have done this mod on several Nissan/Infiniti vehicles, including a 2009 Murano.
