video of my AWD EX35 sliding backwards while parked

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Apparently when you are parked and the parking brake engaged, the front wheels can still roll if the rears slide. I could tell the front wheels turned because when I came out a few minutes later I could see tracks in the snow in front of my front wheels and the car cover was ripped where I had it clipped onto the front wheels valve stems. Before you watch, note it thankfully only slid backwards a couple of feet.

WOW! That was scary. With the slope on your driveway could have been much worse.:ohnoes2
Time for some snow-salt.

Yeah, It was sitting on a patch of snow but much of my driveway was clear. It wouldn't have made it the whole way.

Quite interesting bcs with AWD that u have one would think that with the parking brake lock ON - then all wheels were "in gear" and hence tied together like a traditional quattro or subaru.

Then again hi-tech = makes less sense? :gotme
Guess the Infiniti AWD needs motor to be running? :orly:
