Wow I threw that exact radio away in 1997, I have even thrown away the replacement unit.

That unit was pretty much a POS from day one, i had 6 differnet ones under original warranty, I don't ever miss it....but this for somone that wants that total stock look is very well done. The touch of fixing the buttons was nice.

Yeah from what I can tell, the combination of poor solder joints during manufacture and the multiple ribbon cables used in the design were a receipe for failure - not one of Clarion's better designs.
