that's because you are bogging as soon as the tires grab. You have to experiment with you own car, no two cars have the same "perfect RPM" for launches. I had to cut loose my NA CA18 at at least 7000 RPM to prevent it from falling flat on it's face when the tires hooked up. Why? I had very little torque in that engine, a lightweight fltwheel, 4.10 rear LSD and sticky 235/50/16s. If you tried that in your car with the likely better torque you would win a burnout contest but turn crappy times. Have a freind videotape your car launching from the back and side, examine your skid marks to determine the best tire pressure and suspension settings and continue to watch that tach until you have the right combo for your car.
