I read about this a while back. Its a pretty interesting concept. Basically have a fuel air mixture that gets compressed to the point that its right on the edge of compression combustion, then light a part of it, which rapidly expands, increases the pressure in the chamber, and then drives the rest of the air/fuel mixture to compression combust.
I wonder if it runs like s*** when its cold...

Also, if you go to 2:32, it looks like that pulley at the top right side is for a supercharger :)

pretty interesting to read up about. IIRC I saw a possible 18:1 CR! They're using the expanding gasses from spark ignition to increase combustion pressures to the detonation point essentially.
