well next summer civic and prelude owners alike will have something to look forward to. yea, that next fast and furious movie is coming out. also, something that will be even more hyped up is that fast and furious video game coming out during the summer. i can't imagine either of these are gonna be good, since (a) for the movie they have spent more time trying to find cast members and cars then they actually will spend making the movie... and (b) for the video game, it probably won't have any 240s, which it actually better not, because the nissan name will be ruined. anyways i can't wait for gran turismo 4!!!!!

sorry, i felt like being a "post whore":boink (i'm workin tino)

Heh.. True. I got something I want someone else to try, b/c I have a videogame ego. Get ANY car (cept F1's and Escudos) in GT3, turn off the TCS and go to Laguna Seca, mods don't matter. Then post your best time, then the car. For extra points, actually go to the real Laguna Seca and try it there. :)

Mine is a 1:16.112 in an R34 GT-R V-SpecII.

what's your best 1/4 mile? i did a 9.4 something, with that skyline you just mentioned, but it could have been a loooot better, b/c i don't totally understand the gear ratios. i can't get them right. are there any sites with the perfect gear ratio settings??

They claim it, just use the easy way at the bottom of the gear ratio setting screen, it's not exact, but it's darn close. I'll check my 1/4 in a sec.

Best 1/4 is 9.2, or something like that. It's been a while and I didn't save it afterward. Though with the current Laguna Seca ratios I have on it, its a 9.648.

auto settings aren't good though, b/c i've messed around with them manually, and got better times. was that 9.2 with the skyline? the skyline seems to be the best for 1/4 mile, since it's awd, and is just plain ****in awesome. the escudo is just good for top speed.

Yes, same GT-R. It's my virtual baby. Black, modded out, and it has my special flair to it. When GT goes online watch out :). Yes, the Escudo is only good for top speed, but a friend of mine pulled a 1:10 at Laguna Seca w/ it, but he had TCS on, so it doesn't count.

did you ever try that thing with the escudo where you go to that speedway circle and tape down the accelerator button, and just let it go? free 200,000 each time, real nice.

lol, I pulled a 9.2 or 9.1 outta my skyline, the thing is though I had to start in second gear to get it, I get a high 9 if I start in first due to all the wheel spin, my skyline is hella fast, like 1000sumthing HP, Ill go play Lauguna Seca and post my time real quick :) GIve me soemthing to do!!

Yep, didn't work, though the one we (my friends and I) tried said to reconfigure the controls so that right stick to the left was accelerate, so that we could put a rubberband around the sticks, but it didn't work. I also tried the Test Track trick that allows you to go obsudly fast, it didn't go 800, but I'll take 550.

yea i think you have to set every possible setting just right to hit 800, but yea the track isn't really long enough.

We pulled a 8.7 in the 400m. Near perfect launch and tuned gears in the F1 car (94).

Gran Turismo got me into cars in general. Didnt even know what a skyline or silvia was until GT1. Man I loved that game.

After playing for a while, I began to recognise the tracks on speedvision and used the real drivers lines to improve my game line.

Only wish there was a nurimburg (sp?) track. That would kick@ss

Yeah, GT2 made me fall in love with the GT-R, but I have every one. As for the concept game, it's bull. There's been a Tokyo one, but it was Japan only. There was a Geneva one, but it's Europe only. I haven't heard anything of an American one. PSI, nice times man, no I have my work cut out for me, I'm thinking I'll make it to where you have a special race models class, and a "normal" models, thus the Oreca Viper wouldn't work. The ZZII is the only "normal" car I can think of that would beat a GT-R, and I only know that cause my bro pulls it off frequently... urg...

Know how far GT3 was made in advance? that's why the 350z is listed as a concept, actually, i was surprised to see it included!

anyhow, GT1 made me fall in love with the first gen WRX Sti, it was hands-down the best handling car in the game, and i also had the Steve Millen 75 car 300zx in my garage, i did good time in that too

i miss the ability to transform your car into a race car, i.e. you could make a 5th gen Celica turbo look like the Castrol WRC Celica... *sigh*

there's a game by Capcom, called AutoModelista...due in Nov. i believe, it's cel-animation and the cars look sweet! I just hope they have some nissan's and old-school jdm cars, like Levin's and fc3s rx-7's :drooling

i like rpg's and castlevaniaSOTN, anybody else???

:arcadefre i'm a big videogame freak, since i had an atari, mwahahah!!!!!

May I remind everyone that the challenge I presented is to be done without TCS. I've been looking at the times put up, and some of them I don't believe could be done without it. For instance, a Team Oreca Viper GTS-R is nearly impossible to drive without TCS. Anyway, good luck trying to beat them in a 180 and a Trueno. Of course, I was a little young for Atari, but I was the man when it came to NES. Auto Modelista looks sweet, I can't wait. I liked the ability to "Race Modify" your car too, oh well, at least you can change the rims now... wait, you could do that in 2 as well, but now you can actually see everything. Man I love my PS2.

Well I dont wanna hijack this thread away from car-video games, but...

Anyone here ever play the best CPRG ever?

Fallout and Fallout 2?

You get to wander thru a postapocalyptic wasteland meeting, PPL, mutatns/monsters.Most evryone lives in abject poverty trying to eke out a miserable living in the shadow of former glory.Radiation, sickness, and mere survaival are just part of your journey thru teh wasteland trying to save your PPL. You cna make moral and immoral choices. And get what you need either via, stealing perusaion or brute force.

In fallout2 you can get a nuclear powered car too.But its an expensive luxury in the wasteland to keep fueled and also some wil try to take it from you.

Came out in 98. Will run on any semi-recent 'puter.

With luck you can find some still in larger software/gaming shops.

The thread's about video games in general, I have just abused it, so you can too. I have a friend who loves Fallout, bit I think he said 2 was better.

Fallout 2 is better, I agree. It's plot is longer has more cities and ancient bunkers to discover, or be killed in, or make freinds in.
