trying to get a feel for its abilities, or disabilities, in a "controlled" environment so I can be prepared when things are not as "controlled". I have since figured out the AWD Lock is only to be used when at a stop to get going. I am still trying to figure out why the VDC off is tuned back on w/out my permission though... there were a few times where I wanted the tail to come around 180, and it only came around to 90 and I came w/in inches of the telephone poles! didn't like that! lol

I have always been an advocate of putting your car in a controlled environment if for no other reason but to learn how it behaves in certain situations. When both my kids were learning to drive I would take that exact situation, although a much larger lot, and use our car with the hand operated park brake to put them in situations so they could see first hand how they responded effected the outcome. Also, how the same responses ended up with different results when driving front wheel drive and rear wheel drive cars.

Back to the video...

As far as spinning 180, I have not been able to do that with our Murano simply because I can't keep the AWD from engaging. Even if I could, it's a front wheel drive with rear wheel assist and that alone will prevent that without using the park brake. It certainly is a different animal compared to other 4x4's I've owned only because they were all rear wheel drive and needed to be manually engaged. I have to say that this is the most stable AWD vehicle I've owned but it would be nice to have the ability to disengage the auto engage function.

Thanks for the video!

I guess my main gripe is that there are only 2-3 tire choices, none of which have as aggressive a tread as i'd like to get through 6+ in. of powder. but as a wise friend put it, "its doesn't have skid plates or running boards, thus its not meant to rooster tail snow bricks Jay!" lol
