Got it started today and it runs pretty good. I was suprised when it fired right up but sucked when I heard the cam noise. The hla's are probably dry from sitting so long after I re-assembled the engine. I have about 80psi of oil press. It seems to have a misfire too. I ohmed the injectors and they all seem good so I'm gonna have to look at the coils and see what's up with them. If they all ohm good I may pull the inj's and send them to Deatchworks to get them checked. I'm just happy it runs.

We recorded this on my friends phone so that quality sucks and the mic seems to love the valve noise, kinda like Mettlers. It is much quieter in person and the throaty growl isn't recorded either. Oh well, here it is.

Damn....you got yours running before I did!? Congrats...now I get to ask you all sorts of wiring questions when I can't get mine to start.

If you need any injectors I have 6 "good" ones that Deatschwerks cleaned/flow-tested still in the little bags. They talked me into all "new" phase 2s since I really didn't want to pull that damn plenum off.

No, I was on a strict budget so I had to reuse 90% of the old stuff. The engine had about 130k on it. I re-assembled the heads only to find the section on bleeding the hla's after the fact so I had to tear them down again and bleed them properly.

The engine has been sitting for about 6 months or so since I did the hla's so I'm sure the valves that had tension on them slowly squeezed the oil back out of them.

That sounds cool. I'm going to check the coils today but I may still pick them up from you after xmas. That way I only have to send off 2 to get cleaned and checked.

I found that my fuel pressure is dropping pretty quickly after I turn the fp off. I don't know if an injector is stuck or the regulator has a slow leak past it.

sounds like you tore an injector oring when installing them...which would explain why you have a dead cylinder or 2.pull plugs and see which one has raw fuel on it, that will be the one that you need to change the rings on, remember to use lots of lube when installing the orings.

Do a compression test on #2 before anything else.

Well I just rebuilt the engine so I'm confident in the compression. I ohmed all injectors and they all ohmed ok but when I hook power to them I have 2 that are apparently stuck. No clicky.

Hey Tmorgan, send me an email of how much you want for them. Hopefully they will be within my price range. Thanks! Email in profile

Tap the dead injectors with a screwdriver while the engine is running. They should eventually free up. Similar sort of thing as when your idle motor fills up with **** and stops working.
