Hey I just lowerd my car with Tein Tech S springs and I changed the brake pads at the same time and got an alignment.. Well the front right break pad was put in wrong and runied the rotor (my brother did that one) Anyway I had a clunk, clunk, clink from when it rubbed the pad so I did not drive it untill I got a new rotor. Well now that I have the alignment and put on the new rotor (clunk clunk is gone) when i'm driving over 45mph the front tires vibrate and the steering wheel moves back and forth a little (I have not tried to go over 55mph with it so I don't know if it stops at a higher speed) What could be the cause of this? Do the tires need to be rebalanced? could there be another cause? I know this should be in the Wheels and Suspension forum but no one ever goes in there. Thanks!

ohh and BTW I checked the PSI on all four tires and they are the same

Get the tyres rebalanced..weights full off all the time..

I work in a tyre/wheelfitting/aligment shop.

if not, one of the front tyres has started to seperate.. get it checked quickly if that is the case.

Nope they did not say anything... I looked at them they are in pretty good condition. Did I say that that it did not do this before it was lowerd and actually did not start doing it till about 50 miles after the springs/breaks?.... one day I parked it came back two hours later and it started doing it. I got an alignment as soon as it started happening (I already had an appointment) anyway I was thinking one of the tire weights might have come off so it's out of balance?

you know. i had an idea on your problem. but my mind has suddenley gone straight to the gutter...

(check your wheel balance, thats the easiest to do first. if that dosent fix the problem go back to the alingment shop and *****.)

You'd still get a better response in the 240sx forum, or even the Nissan Online Mechanic forum. The wheel/tire/susp forum is only 'stale' during the day as most people are at work. However, if you put a really descriptive thread title you'll definitely get more replies.

p.s. sounds like a simple balancing issue. You should balance every 3k (or every oil change)edit: Hell you could've searched 'vibration' and got threads back about wheel balancing

Check wheel balancing...

Are your lugs good and tight? That's the really simple solution. I forgot to tighten mine once upon a time (put the car on the ground for the first time in 3 months and forgot to take the wrench to them, so they were still in-the-air loose), fortunately it was noticed before anything fell off, or that kind of fun stuff.

this is a tough one for me because not even a month ago I posted about the same type of problem, with tien h techs in a wrx. my friend actually just took them out of his car as he got a Return Authorization on them and he's getting them checked for defectiveness. we checked everything that you guys mentioned, and more. we had it checked by two shops. the only way tien would let him return them is if he went to a tien authorized dealer and they said they were installed correctly. good luck/ let us know how it turns out.

balance the front tires.

Seperated tires show at very low speeds ~15 mph and as you increase speed the car wants to pull to the side of the seperated tire. I doubt this is a seperation issue by description.
