well, here is the situation. My car was in need of new tie rod ends. the car had a very very minute vibration before my girlfriends father and i put in the new ones. almost too little to notice. now after i put the new ones in there is almost a violent shake to the point where it wiggles my autimatic shift nob. it starts kinda weak at 60mph peaks at like 75 where it is the worse. and then kinda stops at 80 and above. i needa know if we possibly messed things up. i was also at a shop getting my car inspected and the guy told me that something was wrong with my inner tie rod. could this be the source of a vibration? all help is very welcome.

Did you get it aligned? Also, also get the tires balanced too.

yea it was aligned and i got my tires balanced when i got my wheels, however. when they balanced them they used weird sticky weights that stick to the inside of the rim. not the ones that like clamp onto the side of the rim. do these have a tendency to fall off. because if so ill be pissed.lol

Do you have aftermarker rims?If so The hubs on the rims are probly larger then the 240 Hubs putting all the pressure of the spinning wheel on the wheel studs. The s14 hub diameter is 66.2. Get some hubcentric rings

how do you tell if the hub is the same. if it helps the hat of my rotor is flush with the part of the rim that meets it.

Why did the tie rod go bad? Perhaps the LBJ is shot too?

Lmao. Sorry not about the problem, but about the way it was put along with the title: vibrations, and wiggled knob.

Check your rack and pinion bushings, and if the man said inner tie rods, i'd look into that too.

I had a set of tie rods a while back that weren't worth the price of the metal at the scrap yard. They were ebay brand inner tie rods. the ball and socket were extremely loose allowing the wheel to shake and wobble.
