I have just about had it with this dad gome vibration i feel in my steering wheel and in the body of the car. i have a 99 Q45t and the vibrations start at about 60 and continue on until 100+. there are a couple of key facts here. the vibrations are more prominent when the car is "cold" and as the day goes on, they dicipate. the infinity dealer told me it was a balancing problem, and per their direction i put new tires on. i went up to a bridgestone z 245 17. great tires by the way. however the people that balanced them, forced variated and rotated them 2 different times and the vibrations continued with no change. a very intersting fact is that when the dealer shimmed the drive shaft, they said the vibration moved in speed. what does that mean. they said they ruled out the drive shaft by the way. any help would be great on this due to the fact the dealer will be calling me back today with what their diagnosis is. TIA All

i know this doesn't help you one bit, but i had a 99 q45t for a year and it had the same vibration. i didn't try as much as you have tried, just new tires, but it would not go away. i remember it was high speed and not overly noticeable, but it was a constant nagging pain after a while.

When did the vibrations start…was there some event just prior?

Assaulting the curb with a rim maybe? The vibes may be occurring at low speeds too but not noticeable until you are reaching higher oscillations. (eg: braking at 100+ versus 50 mph will magnify the effects of a warped rotor)

Did you watch as they “balanced” the wheels… did it zero out on the machine? Don’t take their word for it and sit patiently in the waiting area until it's time to flip them the plastic....They need to get you out the door for the next customer or lunchtime might be near. No better time to check warpage of a rim than when it’s on the balancing machine and spinning at full tilt. If you keep your eyes on the edge of a bad rim (not the tire) you will see irregular undulations or pulsing versus an unwavering/smooth spinning edge. Same thing when you look at warped tire... It might look like it's on the road going over pot-holes.

Type of vibration - slow (related to veh speed) fast (related to driveshaft speed)? Where do you feel it? Oscillating or constant vibration. Do you feel vibes when going straight, in turns when acceleratin, decelleratin? Need toi be a bit more specific Cheers!
