hey guys, i've been snooping around this site for a while and this is my first time posting.

I have a problem for you to try and figure out, because it has me stumped. When my car (2003 G35 Coupe 6mt) gets going at around 50-60 MPH or higher, a vibration develops whenever I turn the wheel to the left. Now this is not a violent vibration by any means, more of an annoyance that anything. The best way I can think of to describe the vibration is like running over very fine rumble strips (the kind that tell you when you cross the white line to wake you up if you fall asleep at the wheel), but its not nearly as drastice as what a full sized rumble strip feels like. The vibration is also intermittent, but follows a regular pattern, ie. it will vibrate on the first second, skip the 2nd second, vibrate on the 3rd, skip the 4th, vibrate on the 5th...you get the idea.

The car only has about 34000 miles on it, and i havn't talked to my dealer yet about the problem, i wanted to chat with all of you first, so...........any ieas? Thanks for the help

Important to actually measure the vibration frequency and the amplitude of each frequency making up the total felt vibration.

Tire radial force imbalance occurs in all 4 tires to varing degrees and frequencies. The high stiffness spots move around as the tires rotate......when you turn the tires change relative positions and the vibrations change and come and go in and out of phase.

Each rotating item has a difference frequency based on rpm [speed].

Once you know the vibrating exact frequency you calculate things that could be causing it.

Welcome to NICO!!

I would think it's something to do with your alignment. When you say vibrating...is it the dash? The whole car? Oh and Q...great suggestion...but how the heck is he supposed to do that????

DREW!!!! any help?

My guess would be suspension...but that's just a stab in the dark. InfinitiTech might know exactly what it is.

i had a car with a bad c/v joint that did something similar. however, this can't be your problem since your G is RWD.

maybe a bad wheel bearing???

also...how do your tires look? especially the one on the side where the vibration is...?

The bearing usually comes with noise also. I think it is either your joint or could be alignment issue. Also could be your tire. I had a cheap set of tire years ago and it was shaking one of the tire after 10k mile, the wire in there broke. I don't think that is your problem tho because it shoul do it even when you are driving straight.

If you don't have bearing noise it should be your joint or alignment issue. You did not hit the curb or something like that?

Second thought. Is it doing it even when you are on the brake?
