I seem to always get this vibrating noise from the large trim piece that goes around the climate controls, which I think is causing the larger defrost button to vibrate aswell.

Now if I push in on the upper left corne of the trim, the noise stops. Or if I pinch the larger defrost button it stops. But of course it continues when I let go in either situation.

I only notice this when I first start the car up for the day. After that, any other time I start it it's fine. It's more like when I let the car warm up in the morning type of thing. From what I remeber thats the only time it happens...I think lol.

Anyway, have any of you faced the same problem? This is a 95 240 btw.

The plastic pieces are old and after a while are worn out. When they are cold the are I guess shrunken would be the word but as you drive and the cabin and the car itself heats up they expand and fill in the gaps that are loose and rubbing causing your rattle. The only thing to do is get new pieces or get some 3M adhesive tape and make sort of a gasket for the pieces.

Wow I hadn't thought about the tape, but I also forgot about how heat would be a cause.

Thanks, and just when I was about to give up on my thread you came along lol....great idea!
