sorry for the doubl posting but i need some help.I have a 93 240sx 5 speed and i have a vibration. It happens when the car is in neutral or moving and seams to be worse if it is sitting and you push the clutch in. so that narrows it down to the input shaft of the transmission forward thought the engine clutch flywheel or something like that. does anyone have an idea what could be wrong. thanks for the help.

What exactly's vibrating? The shifter? The whole car?

I have a KA24E and the shifter and car would shake a little, anything in the car that could wobble, did. If i revved up it went away. It was like one of the cylinders misfiring I have bosch platinum 2's and i doubted it was them. I bought new plug wires and it stopped. Hadn't replaced them since I got the car back in '03

the whole car is shaking and it isnt a misfire. the engine and trans mounts look good.

just a thought, i dont know how hard you have ran the car etc but my best guess is that if everything else seems strong etc then you might want to think as to whether you have blown a connecting rod or not, that would be a good reason for the vibration etc at idle or in gear seeing as it would throw the whoile engine out of balance....

well the engine runs fine and still has good power for a stock ka. so i dont think it was the rods or bearings.

your mounts should have very little to almost no play when starting your engine. if you can rock your engine back and forth with your hands, it means they are shot.

if the vibration is happening during take off, slow acceleration, it could be your driveshaft center bearing failing. just a thought

its still running and you're complaining? haha. like stated ^, its a 240. they vibrate, shake, studder, make weird *** noises, and do **** normal cars are never supposed to do. just how it is man...

but how bad does it vibrate? and does it run funny? maybe your timings just WAY off. idk...

I would say u joints in the drive shaft. do you still have the two piece drive shaft. Vibrating while sitting still thou, Could be posted above a misfire or bad tune, not tune per say but your ecu is not reading something. Did you check for vacuum leaks if you mafs is working correctly. When was the last time you replaced the throw out bearing.

if there was something with the transmission, you'd be able to hear it too... especially the throw out bearing

Clogged injectors can also cause crazy shaking on the whole engine...
