I have had my 2013 Rogue for one month and have a question. When I am cruising at about 40 MPH and press down on the gas pedal to maintain speed I feel a lot of vibration in the bottom of the steering wheel. Is this normal?

Does it also do this when you accelerate from 40mph? Also...define "a lot of vibrations."

I ask because the 2.5l I-4 in the Rogue isn't the most refined engine so when the CVT tries to keep the RPMs low, when maintaining speed, sometimes you get a little bogging and imbalance in the drivetrain....which is basically normal.

Our 2013 Rogue is the same. When you feel it, if you let off the gas or accelerate a little more, it goes away. Dealer says it's normal. Ours did it with the old transmission and the new one, so I guess it is normal. Although anything you mention to them is normal until it blows up, then they fix it ? Maybe that's normal also ?

I had 2011 problem was stalling in that range when lightly pushing on gas. Bought 2013 get same problem your having. Tech took ride said transmission was hunting for best rpm for gas mileage. May be right, but for $30k you would like a car that ran even with out any vibration. Problem is this is in the range of most town driving, bothers me.
Nissan needs to find a way to clean up CVT and Rogue engine if it wants good feelings buy return buyers.
