Has anyone done this mod with their A/C? A friend of mine has the plate from his sedan and claims that because of my CVT I wont see drops in low end performance. Granted its a $30 piece of metal, but is it even worth jack? Anyone with the plate seen gains? losses? ghosts?

I guess I'm slow but I've never even heard the term VIAS.

I did find this when Googling...

Its an anogram, cant remember what it stands for. Apparently its a second throttle body which balances air for correct backpressure in lower RPMs. Deleting is as simple as throwing a metal plate over the opening.

That link is showing gains but I was hoping to find some comments on effect to engine life over time. Its a super cheap mod that will give 8HP according to that Dyno? Might be worth it.

Considering the top end of the CVT is 135 MPH, and its risky as hell to overspin the CVT, I wouldn't do it. The CVT has terrible low end tq to begin with, I dunno why you would want to make it even worse.

For 8hp, probably not worth it then.

And on the "Please do not link to competing forums"... I simply Googled it real quick and pasted the link in since it was relevant to the topic, wasn't really thinking about who is Nico's competitor and who isn't. Maybe you guys should post a guide to show which sites are your competitors in the rules section to enlighten us.

I guess next time I'll go through the trouble of posting image links.

I was more hoping to find someone who had done so I could hear their opinion on its effectiveness, just throwing it out there trying to learn a little more about it. Not quite sure why it would make a difference but my friend made the argument that I wouldnt see losses in low end because of CVT?
