vh45fc...

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

Car: lots of unique hot rods, and customs, with modern engines, and a good truck to pull the trailer.

I have done 8 FC's mostly SBC. Have my Vh45 sitting around for 3 years with the intention of the FC, but hate the automatic, found a Z32 to get the 5spd, and wouldn't you know it, car was too good to strip, so now I am making a Z45. Gotta say, for speed, drifting, and overall, undrivable power, the FC would be awsome. But with the crossmember, there is a major issue. The FC needs rearsump, the Vh is a frontsump, and yes we are making new pans, but still, major swap. But I have built 450Hp FC weighing in under 2700, so go it is possible to take another hundred or so off with the Vh. I'd be badass, but the width tolerences are close. Steering especially. I have sat the engine in the bay before, I will look for the pics.

As far as the fittement goes, from what I can gather, it should be able to fit right through the engine bay without touching either of the strut towers, but yeah the front sump is kinda ****ed up. what were you going to do as far as engine accessories? Were you going to run p/s? anyways hit me back and let me know about any discoveries that you made while looking at everything. We are still in the begining phases of everything but it never helps having another person's input. Thanks

Well the aftermarket support is very limited, so it makes more sense not the use the VH

There's not really another way to develop any if it isn't used. The VH45 is such a solid, rev happy motor with gobs of low down torque, it would be a fun engine to have in there bone stock or with a NICO ECU for it.

Q alt was out really far to the pass, major clearance issues with swaybar. granny's has a good swaybar drop kit I have used. Fuel lines need flipped over, oil filter needs moved, it has clearance fun on drivers side. Exhaust mani on drivers was in wy of steering. SBC drops right in, clears k member, but Vh is much better engine choice. You'd have to go dry or rear sump.
