I just wanted to share these intake manifold builds with the community to hopefully get some sparks flying! A few weeks ago Japspeed contacted me about intake manifold options for their VH45DE S15. They have run with stock internals for 2 seasons... Pushing over 500 horsepower with not a single hickup! This should shine a light on some of the negative comments that have been floating around about the VH. It's a beast when you have a good running engine (That doesn't have 100k+ miles on it)

I'm very excited to get this rolling. This is what I've done so far!

Q45 Throttle Body Flange
4" Intake Manifold Runners
Plenum Flanges

This is the first Performance VH Intake manifold for the VK56DE. It will use the 90mm LS7 throttle body.

Cutting out an LS7 throttle body flange for use on the Nissan Titan Intake Manifold.

This is the upper plenum flange for the VK56DE intake manifold.

And this is the design of the intake manifold that I'm going off of. Hopefully it'll turn out somewhat similar! :P

More updates!

Got the VK56 mock up engine up to the fabrication shop. Now I'm just waiting on some M14x1.5 bolts to mount her to the ending stand. Right now it's stable on the floor. I test fitted the intake runners to the block. Everything is as designed.
Image

Finished welding the inner runners for machining. Got a lot of practice with my useless left hand lol!
Image

Got the runners on the driver side flange welded up. I'm waiting on the fuel rail before I mock up the injector bungs. I'm going to finish welding up the other side tonight. Then work on machining the runner inlets.

Got the passenger side flange all welded up last night. Note to self... don't drink coffee while TIG welding lol caffeine makes ya hands shakey! Got the upper flange welded as well. Then machined the runner mouths.

Sorry for the crappy cellphone pics... Upper plenum is welded on the VK56DE Manifold. Just need to close up the bottom, attach the throttle body flange, injector bungs and fuel rail mounts.

Thank you. The VK56 intake manifold will be installed on an Cammed NA. The VH45DE is going on a twin turbo.

The VK56DE OEM intake manifold is designed for low end torque and really suffocates the cams with the long runners and small throttle body. The intake runners are 7.25" vs OEM approx. 20". The custom intake also has a larger runner diameter. We upgraded the throttle body from 75mm to the 90mm LS7 throttle body.

Some quick updates on the VK56DE Intake Manifold:

Throttle body flange and neck welded on. Then made a little PerformanceVH logo and welded that on to the manifold. The throttle body is a 105mm LS7 throttle body. We will not be using this on the Titan. I just installed it for fitment purposes.

Here's my progress of the VH45 intake manifold I am building for Team Japspeed over in the UK. My intake will probably end up looking very similar to this, just with a lower profile for hood clearance

All done! Shipping out on Friday! I'll put some more pictures up once Japspeed installs it, and gets some dyno numbers! :) So excited. Rumor has it that they will be going with a polished finish on the manifold ;)

Did you ever get before and after dyno numbers on this Intake? Looks beautiful, by the way.

The first one we did for the VK56 gained 30hp and 11tq from stock. We never got numbers for the VH45 intake manifold since they went a different route
