Sounds good! I've always preferred the tone of v8's with an X-pipe as opposed to true dual or H-pipe.

your welds look much improved over your first version of the car...but you're also welding with gas now; world of difference no?what material are the mufflers and pipe, looks like ss but i cant tell.

The turbo Q is running 7.5 psi of boost without any problems. The trans is getting a bit noisy so I need to plan on changing it in the future.

I've still got some other things that need to be done like the exhaust after the turbo. Right now, it has some stainless steel flex tubing for the center part of the exhaust. It works but clearance is an issue so I need to look at some oval tubing.

The car is out of the picture at the moment. Last time I drove it was about a month ago. I've got it parked at my Mom's place in Atlanta.

nothing much to report, im waiting on parts again to finish the engine bay, and for the brakes. Im trying to get the car driving so i can take it to get painted next month and be done for now.

So as a result of killing time , im building a new harness for the engine, getting rid of all the stuff im not using and tucking it away for less visibility.

Example coil pack harness before

After

Still a work in progress hope to have the car drving soon.

Beautiful work. Really nice job on the exhaust and the motor looks amazing. I've been thinking about redoing some of my exhaust too. I know I have a few small leaks pre turbo. Might spool a little quicker if I fix them. Every little bit helps.

That's a great idea for the coil pack harnesses! Did you just cut the connectors with a little wire left and add in some fresh wires? It's difficult to find good coil pack harnesses. Every set I've ever seen was cracking and about to fall apart.

Reading up on this forum and watching you go through and make this car a reality makes me want to do it to my daily driver. Granted I think that would mean no AC but oh well.

Well been busy all week, got the engine harness done, it was a pain but looks much better. Plus i got to cut out a lot of unused stuff.

before

Moved the ignitors to the inside of the car, and finish both coil pack harnesses.

and here is the main engine harness

The tags are where i have to add another plug

Very nice work. It will let people see the beauty of the VH instead of a bunch of wires. LOL.

well got a bit accomplised today.

Got a fan for my radiator, its a ford taurus dual speed fan, alot of mustang guys use them , and from just turning it on attached to my radiator it has twice as much air flow than the dual flexalites i had before. Plus it has a built in shroud and with a little trim it fit my rad perfectly, except for an inch or so that hung below the rad, which ill fix with a peice of aluminum.

Also made the braided hose for the catch can (which im fabbing up later this week) and installed the wiring, plus i was able to get the brake booster back on as well.

I love the fact that you can hardly see any wiring on this engine, and its all there

Lastly made the mounts for the radiator to sit on and got it in the car, im almost there lol.

I'm running the Taurus fan on my Turbo Q. It moves a lot of air so you will have no problems. Just make sure you use a heavy duty relay and wiring since that thing pulls some serious amperage on the high speed circuit.

The engine bay looks very nice. Are you going to put the ornamental covers back on the valve covers?

The wire loom looks great. Better than factory.

FWIW, my Taurus fan pulls about 60A on startup and runs at 30A on high, 15A on low.

Well Ive been really busy with work lately so these arent the most current pics but for what its worth the car is running, just have to finish up the brake lines.

Undercoated the both wheel wells

Made my own high pressure steel braided ps hose, and did the nylon braid for the return to the power steering cooler. They run real close to the headers so i put the heat sleeving over them.

Ballerific alluminum drive shaft

Here you can see where i put the fuel filter, the engine bay was too cluttered so i put it on the bottom of the car, the zip ties where just temporary, its all clamped in place now

Here you can see the power steering cooler, hopefully it wont boil over any more

Also got the expansion tank mounted , its at the highest point so i should have no air bubble problem since the radiator is lower than the water outlet

Also got rid of the origin sides and rears and bought another set of jdm zenki sides and valences, much better imo.

Thats it for now maybe ill get some dyno vids in a week or two then its off to paint.

praise the lord, the engine is done. It starts and runs and idles and all, i have a few loose ends such as the catch can and such but nothing major. Now i can paint this f@cker and take it to the track.

Will be getting the radiator support powdercoated soon as well

Heres some pics

Should be able to take it for a spin around the block at least tommorow, just have to clean up this mess

Well busy weekend, got the front end mocked up and hood pins installed and pretty much got eberything mechanical wise put together.

Which culminated in this

YouTube - VH45de S14 first drive again 2008

The whine you hear is the p/s pump as i had no fluid in the system,

We ended up removing everything that wasnt bolted down and took it for a spin, unfortunatly the vid is pretty uneventful. When i was further from my neighborhood i opened her up, it will destroy 315 azenis from a roll in second gear and if you go first thru third its amazing, i couldnt take it out too long as it was getting dark, but all in all great ride

Heres some more pics

Serious buisness

Just watched the vid....car sounds awesome. I'm looking forward to some in-car vids.

So did the later headlights and fenders just bolt on? I've always liked the front end of the final 240sx.

Well made it to the dyno today, did a couple of pulls with a few different tunes.

1st pull base line, headers / exhaust

2nd pull left the vtc till redline no other changes, picked up a few hp up top tq remained the same

3rd pull vtc was stock a few degrees of timing and a little leanerBig diference in tq below 4000. Best pull of the the night.

So the most power was 283hp 293wtq. I think with a little more fine tuning 300whp 300lbft tq is very achievable, we shall see. Ill have the .drf's tommorow and can over lay the 3 on winpep.

Heres some vids

Wow...nice numbers. That might be the most power out of a NA VH45DE we've seen posted on NICO so far. Regardless, those are strong numbers and make me jealous! My Q could definitely use nearly 300rwhp...or more.

car sounds mean bro...... those are some crazy tq for the 240 man..... if you achieve 300hp/300tq, it'll be easy get your car sideways, its probably doing that right now...... keep us all posted
