i was wondering if there are any years of the infiniti q45 that have any better internals or were noted to be a better year for the vh45 and i am thinking of doing the swap into my 95 s14 so any info would really be a help with this swap

1990 had a slightly rougher idle according to some.

1991-1992 had the best idle and power combo

1993 lost sodium filled exhaust valves

1994 had different heads and metal chain guides VS plastic on the 1990-1993.

1995 had OBD 1.5 (had some OBD sensors but not entirely OBD2)

1996 Well to be kind, just stay away from that engine all together if you want power.

so which of these would you sugest for a build and do you think they are a reliable enough motor to use for drifting? i just dont wanna go with the SR not that i dont like the SR motors i just want to use something different and i would rather be NA then forced induction i was also thinking of doing the vq swap but my friend ran the vh motor idea by me and thank you for the info on the different years man definitely helpful

If you have the money for the parts then go with a 1990-1992 VH. You will need to replace the chain guides, under plenum stuff... Once thats all done you should'nt have to do anthing to the engine for about 10 years.

so you dont think it would benefit to do a rebuild and go over the valve train and replace rings. i will most likely end up going with boost prolly supercharger after seeing a build thread on here with someone pushing 6psi from a vortech and putting numbers around the 430hp range and the torque numbers were just a little lower but anyway let me know what you recommend

Check out the VH section in that case. But if you got the money I would make everything like new. But from what I have heard that takes a lot of money and someone with the tools and knowledge to do it right.

Do what you can bro...
