Remember those two Q45s I parted out? Well I put new timing chain guides in one of them and cleaned it up to drop into my car for now.

The lead time on a lot of the custom components I want for my car is going to take some time, so I'm throwing in a stock motor for now so I can drive the thing sooner than later.

Before...

After...

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics. The valvecovers are actually Chrysler Hemi Orange. I did all of this work yesterday. There are still some finishing touches to be made, but overall the hard stuff is done.

Looks good. Mine was all nice and pretty looking on an engine stand, but after installing and removing the engine 10 times it took it's toll on the freshly painted and finished parts. At this point in time I don't even care...maybe I'll touch that stuff up later.

Thanks for the compliments guys! One of these days I'll stop spending money on the car and buy myself a camera... priorities!

Are you eliminating the PCV and running a catch tank?

My VH isn't in front of me--what do the other hoses that come out of the valve covers go to (I know the front ones route right to the PCV valve)? I'd like to get rid of the other hoses if at all possible.

Any and all ports in the valve cover are pcv. There are 2 that link the covers together like a balance tube, there are 2 that go from the crankcase to the valve covers and 2 that let air in from the intake and 2 that suck it back out through the pcv check valve. One could plug them all up and just add breathers to the valve covers and the crankcase or let the crankcase vent to the valve covers and then vent the valve covers or use the catch can method. Best would to use a catch can but then run the catch can back to the intake to keep the crankcase and heads under vacuum. That way you have a vacuumed crankcase and pcv but without the nastiez.
