VH45DE Engine Re-Badging

This came from another thread where gs14racer was selling his S14 VH swap but I didn't want to pollute his thread. So I'll continue the topic here...

Oddly enough, the JDM engines do have the "Fuji Mountain" on them, as shown in this yahoo.jp auction http://page17.auctions.yahoo.c...10763

I'd love to take this on, if I were 1000 miles closer.

T3 in ATL has a great source for VH's, it might be worth seeing if they'd help you source one.

Where do you see the fuji mountain logo? I was checking out the pics and I wasn't sure what you are referring to. I do notice that there is a "Nissan" logo on the intake manifold instead of the Infiniti brand symbol. I have seen a different Nissan logo before too, one that looked more like the traditional chrome rising sun rather than just the text "Nissan". The one I saw might have been photoshopped though because my JDM VH45DE engine, that came complete with JDM ECU part number which JWT has never seen before, had the same US Infiniti symbol on it's intake manifold.

I am looking for the dealership part numbers for this nissan badge or the nNssan rising sun badge (if it's real and oem) that will fit the spider manifold. Does anyone know where I can get one/ what the part number is?

Though I swear when I used to browse the yahoo.jp auctions I'd see them.

Q45tech used to say look at the exhaust manifolds, as the JDM ones should have no pre-cats or something like that. Let me see if I can find his posts.

I think I have seen the one you're talking about too and the logo had some purple or violet in it or something? Maybe that was an aftermarket tuning company's logo?

hi, ive seen a vh at a importer with a plastic cover over the intake mutch like the newer type cars.i dont know what it is but if its still there i'll take a pic.i think it was nissan v8 power or something like that.

This looks like the regular infiniti badge, although come to think of it maybe the point in the middle was always a blend of the sybols for infinity (in mathematical terms) and Mt Fuji?!?

What confirms a JDM takeout is the engine will come with exhaust headers that have no precats vs US model which have precats for emissions.

Since the Q was made in Japan the Infiniti logo was used after they rain out of Nissan oval logo even for JDM.They made lots of engines but sales were low in US so some logoed versions got used in Japan or Far East.

When I ordered my JDM takeout motor from Japan it had no precats AND the Mt Fuji.
