There is a lot on here about the VH but not the VT. What are the major differences and what makes the newer VT an improvement or not.

so far I know the VT is an open deck... does it still have the same basic rigid architecture otherwise? I know its about 60lbs lighter... How about power potential N/A? etc..

Also where is the search feature, I dont see it.

I believe you're thinking of the VK45DE & VK45DD, which is the new generation of Nissan V8? There's no VT45DE that I know of.

I know the VH has a racing pedigree, with a highly reinforced block & head design due to it being part of the structural rigidity in the R390 GT1... I'm not so sure the VK engine series was built for quite the same racing potential in mind.

That said however, it is now to be released in the 350Z so it may be used in racing, that may cause an evolution of the new engine.

At the moment, the general consensus appears to be that there's no real benefit to using the significantly more expensive newer generation VK V8, seeing as Nissan more or less got it perfect with the VH, which can be picked up dirt cheap these days.

I don't actually know anyone who has played with a VK engine who will share information with me, so I have no real idea as to the head design etc.
