I knwo theres a couple threads popping around here about making cams for the VH45DE, i stumbled upon an engine named TB48, on brian crower's website, supposedly only available overseas as heavy competition to the land cruiser. THe cams look CLOSE to the VH45DE cams to me, but i was wondering if anyone had made a comparison to see if that would work. It may be the ticket for the VH guys to finally get a cam selection!

Yeah and it's a nuts engine!!!

You guys should search on youtube, there's a few very powerful patrols floating around in the UAE...

There's a video of a ~900HP one dealing to a Lamborghini Murcielago... provided me with a bit of a laugh :D

It is the motor from the Patrol and as such is just a slightly bigger version of a TB42 that is almost the same as a TD42 (4.2 diesel). Strong as **** and can handle huge boost BUT it is an agricutural motor. ie heavy and won't rev ie 6k takes some effort. The most commonly worked version is the TB45 and while they make some serious hp it is in a very small rev range. This one of the motor's I considered before going the VH way. TE VH has SOOO much more potential and is about 100kgs lighter, has about twice the usable rev range and is stronger. (not saying the TB isn't strong) Th TB is all about torque and for that it is pretty amazing.I love my VH and it is going on the dyno on Tuesday so it will be interesting to see what it will do!!!!!!! If nothing else it looks dam cool and sounds pretty outrageous!

i think ive decided on my project as an S13 coupe with silvia front, 8pt cage, MR coilovers, and full suspension, prothane bushing kit and MR subframe collars, and a VG30DETT with twin side exit exhaust on nascar style exhaust system and a pair of Garrett T28s with JWT (wild) Race cams....

450-500whp goal...

should be fun =) time to start now... later
