i dont see how you wouldnt be able to get it passed via state referee. as long as you retain your emission equipment from the VH, it should be okay. be forewarned, for the history of most motors is cloudy, so you don't really know if you will pass until you get a pre-smog, or rebuild it and pass the first time.

but at the same time, i dont think it would be worth the trouble since z32s have more aftermarket support and R&D compared to the VH. custom parts are available, but realistically, its only a project to undertake if you have serious funding and time.

ACTUALLY IT WOULD BE A BIGGER HEADACHE AND MORE MONEY TO DO A TURBO SWAPP. ESPECIALLY MAINTENECE ON THE TURBO...EVENTUALLY IT'S GOING TO BE A TRACK CAR. BIG TURBOS WITH BIG LAG SLOW YOU DOWN ON A TRACK THAT ISN'T IN A CIRCLE A BLOWN ALUMINUM V8 WINS EVERYTIME. I jUST WATCH A GT SERIES RACE, THE VIPER BEAT OUT PORCHE HANDS DOWN. YOU NEED LOW END TORQUE NOT JUST HIGH END HORSE TO COMPETE. I STILL TAKE IMPORT OVER DOMESTIC ANYDAY. I'M TRYING TO GET THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS. OTHE VH45 IS LIGHTER BY 100LBS. THEN JUST BLOW IT. INSTANT 5 TO 600 HORSE PLUS LOTS OF TORQUE.....I WILL SAVE THE SWAPP FOR WHEN SHE'LL BE A TRACK CAR THEN...

so what class and sanctioning body are you building this to compete in?

also if your turbo's are they are either sized improperly or are in need of rebuilding

if you are serious about racing you need to decide what sanctioning body you will be running and what class so that you can build to those spec's.

I don't think your car would be legal for any sanctioned races, if however you are happy doing time trials and HPDE's be my guest

if the VH45 is what you really want for whatever reasons by all means do what you want but do not discount the value of the VG

sometimes the reasone something hasn't been done is becasue it's a bad idea (I know the VH45 in a Z32 has been done just not very common) why re-invent the wheel?

I do like the vg engine. it's just a swap would be a huge headache due to plumbing. also all the vg engine stuff is expensive. very overpriced. i do have a 2+2. which is ideal for high speed stability. 2 seaters have a really short wheel base so the rear end is heavy oversteer. I speculation lowend torque to compinsate for me longer body and a blower on top off that...we'll say 500 whp.500 torque. thats m5 teritory. great get off 100lbs lighter. i wouldn't need to have any interanls done untill it's time for a rebuild 120,000 miles later. very streetable and very raceable. now if i could afford it yes i would just buy a twin turbo. but they are all 12000 and up in san diego. i baught this car last year with 86 thou on it for 5 grand..7 thou difference. i haven't ruled out a twin vg swap yet, i'm still exploring. i'm doing the suspension next month and rims after thats done 2000 right there. already have a great specialty z exhaust..it's tough i'm married with kids so actually the 2+2 carries the family...lol...though thats not what i baught it fot...lol...just please send anything you can my way and knowledge or opinios is helpfull. i'm still a rookie. essentially

You don't need the TT transmission if you're going auto as the Q45 uses the same auto transmission as the TT. You can use the TT transmission but you just need to get the Q45 bell housing, no adapter needed.

The VG is an awesome engine, I prefer them over the RB26 any day but I believe the VH is definitely a superior engine.

Power wise, you'd end up spending a lot less doing a VH swap with some boost than you would even paying for all of the mods for a TTZ... You can get a whole Q45 for the same price as a VG30DETT on ebay.

you can buy a Z32TT with the VG30DETT already in it and running from 6k and up depending on milage and condition, and for less than a grand you can have close to 400whp, or for about $2500 you can have 500+whp
