My names Ember. I had a Z32 that I was going to put a VH45 in then I came across a 280Z. I unfortunately had to get rid of my Z32 to get the Datsun. Before i got rid of it i dropped the 5speed and the drive shaft. I have a adapter plate already bolted to the VH45 I just need a new clutch, and see how well the plate fits once the transmissions bolted on. So now I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with this engine swap for the Datsun.

Not a lot of swaps using the VH. It's been swapped into a number of various chassis it's just not a popular choice. It's lack of aftermarket support, it's complexity, it's relative low power output compared to more modern more popular power plants and the few boutique suppliers of adapters and conversion parts have to charge so much due to the small market it ends up being a more expensive swap than something more powerful and more popular.

Well so far I've just been trying to do everything myself. I know how expensive it would be just to take it to a shop and go here is my lego car can you put it together for me, by the way theirs no instruction manual have fun. I know the VH isn't really popular with the S30. Its more swapped in S13s I saw a form on here that someone was doing a Vh 510 swap then nothing ever happen with that post. I've been to hybridz, zilvia, and here when I was going to swap it in the Z32. Ive been to these sites a lot. Then I finally joined here.

Yeah I tried keeping it in the nissan family I still have the 2.8L in the garage if the swap gets to complicated and the original 4speed
