I have a bunch of stuff for a Vh45 swap.. and the motor isnt one of them

Ive seen people favor the 1994+ because of better head design while ive seen people go with the 90-93's.

I'd say the main difference is the timing guides. 90-93 are plastic, 94-96 are metal. If you do find a 90-93, just pull the timing cover to verify.

It totally depends on what you want to do with it and what your going to do to it. If your doing a full rebuild of the engine then go with any of them, but upgrade the timing chain guides.
If your not goign to do anything then go with a 94 with low miles.

The earlier ones have simaese ports on the intake and they are harder to work with for fabrication needs if you do a manifold or if you get a port job done.

This year im going to do the normal stuff like head gaskets/waterpump/guides etc. Nothing major. Just need it to last threw 1 drift event and last til November of this year before im going to rebuild/build it with a turbo for next year. Was hoping to have a cam before install but i cant find someone that makes them, unless i buy regrounded cams from mazworx or something. BRIAN CROWER NEEDS TO STEP IT UP!

But that did answer my question on the earlier ones. ive heard mixed things. Just making sure because i can tell you every torque spec and everything for a Ka/SR/VG off the top of my head but when it comes to VH/VQ its all new to me.
Plus i dont want to make a simple mistake by somethign i could have avioded. So it looks like 94 with low miles it is! lol

Also this would be good info to put into that sticky your making for the VH swap.
