hello im doing a vh45 swap im my 82 toyota truck i havnt really got started with it yet i have the donnor motor trans ect ect out and reary to go in. i just want to know if anyone has every done the swap in a small pickup before ? al so im havin trouble with the idle the motor idels wired and spudders! didnt do this tell i pulled it out ? the ecu is reading code 14 (ks) from my understading it dnt do much? any ides of what the problem is? thanks :ohno:

I don't know what the problem with the idle would be but good luck with the swap man. To my knowledge, I haven't ever seen a swap like this done. Sounds awesome! Keep us updated.

thinks man. do you know what the knock sensor actully does? and could some one give me a easyer way to do the wiring so i dnt have to use the hung factory harness? maybe a pin out for the ecu?

You need to replace the Knock sensors and the Knock sensor harness. They are under the main plenum, do it now while the motor is out and save your self some headache. You might as well replace the Fuel injection harness as well while you have it apart, and check all your injectors out.

The car will run like poo with a KS code, but that shouldn't affect the idle. Have you replaced (or at least checked) the timing chain guides? Depending on what year motor you have they could be plastic and should be replaced with the new metal backed style guides.

You know there is a VH/VK specific forum on NICO? You would probably get more info if you posted this there. There are lots of good guys that will help you out.

Good luck, if you pull it off it would make for a sick truck.
