I pulled my manifold off today to start deleting some things and inspect the motor and what not. I'm sure some of you have deleted EGR and accompanying emissions components and I was hoping you guys would be able to help me out. First off, if I keep my Idle Air Control Valve, do I need to keep the Y (In the first picture) that leads to that pipe (second Picture) that runs up the block to some sort of something, or can that be removed and a line run to just the intake manifold, and intake piping?

Secondly, when I am deleting all unnecessary vacuum, I'm not quite sure what these two solenoids (third picture) are on the front of the motor above the CAS do and if I can delete them.

The 2 solenoids are for the egr, if you remove it you can remove those aswell.

As for the IACV, I don't know if anyone has removed the Y. But I know plenty of people, including myself have removed the IACV completely.

I'm still on the fence about IAC just because I like the reliability of keeping it, but I do want simplicity. So we'll see, it would be nice if I didn't have to run that extra line.

Don't 'need' the acv but it's nice to have when it's colder out instead of having to hold the gas for a bit till it warms up some.
The -Y- does nothing but act like a muffler.
I removed the -Y- and it's rather loud when it is active.

The two solenoids/ one for the egr and one for the carbon canister. I'm not running any of the above right now and it seems more then fine. But I will more then likely hook the acv back up at some point.
