You and I have the exact same powertrain, lol (your Q is a '94 right?).TellarHK wrote:Owning both a Q45 and a Z32, I have to say this idea intrigues me and I shall be subscribing to your newsletter. However, I think this is pure madness
Pure, unadulterated madness. I'd really like to see how this turns out, especially taking into account the higher weight and relatively small horsepower gain that you get with a VH45. I was looking under the hood of my Q today, and remarked on just how clean the engine bay was in layout and design compared to that of the Z. But the idea of slapping that engine in? Wow.
It's hardly an ideal transmission. With my stock 4.08 rear, 1st gear is useless and I can't reach 60 in 2nd.vg30de93 wrote: EDIT: also imagine the motor with the Z32 transmissionyea i know morning wood right :P ahaha
car nut wrote:You guys are making this seem better then it is... Yeah, you make a lot more power in NA form but there's no room in the bay for forced induction, the VH has no aftermarket following, you destroy the resale value of your car and most of the time you lose creature comforts like A/C. It's cool to say my car has a V8 and it'll roast the tires through second gear, but a lightly modded TT will rape it.

The aftermarket following that the VH45 has (hint: it has none). About the only thing you can get are cam regrinds and pistons. Other then that, you're completely on your own. And yeah, the VH has much more potential, but that potential can only be reached with lots of work and custom parts.vg30de93 wrote: what aftermarket following are you referring to. Yea destroy the resale value, thats if you are going to sell it, A/C is possible, and so is PS. a lightly modded stock TT? or are you talker about upgraded turbos and injectors. Stock Turbos mak ou ~370whp as well as the injectors. The VH runs the same injectors thus has the same max hp range as a Stock TT.
What bolt-ons from your NA? I can't think of a single thing off the top of my head. The only thing you could use would be an exhaust, and that's if you cut and weld the VH header to match the VG exhaust location.vg30de93 wrote: So with my old bolt ons from my n/a with a couple for the VH im believe ill be over 300whp. and torgue a long with it. no spooling, no turbo lag, straight low end torque
