Anyone know the thickness of the stock VH45 head gaskets? Having to get custom ones as mine's overbored so need to know how thick to have them made.Cheers

Could you cut/modify/customize a set of the OEM gaskets to fit? Might be the easiest or safest way to get one.

OEM gaskets are a kind of laminate, with rubber fluid seals consolidated within, and raised compression seals around the bores and head perimeter. 1.56mm in the thinnest areas (uncompressed), give or take a few hundredths. They look considerably thinner when compressed though, maybe under 1mm.

Cheers. Getting some made at the moment in 0.9mm copper. Not too worried about CR as that will all be re-calculated before the piston design is finalised. Was more worried about affecting the cam timing, but I guess if stock are ~1mm then there should be very little difference.

even 1mm off at the gasket is less than 1* of timing, so you won't be out of bed by much.

Just pulled a HG and took about a dozen measurements from different places. Pretty even distribution between 1.42mm and 1.58mm. It's starting to look like the designed nominal compressed thickness is 1.5mm, but I really thought the HG would compress more than that. If I remember to I'll put some feeler gauges on the other head and see what it yields.

Thanks a lot. Probably still going to go for 0.9mm, but interesting to know what stock is.
