Does anyone know what Flywheel bolts fit the VH45. I thought the SR20 ones fit and also the 2.0L Ford Pinto but I haven't been able to find out for sure any part numbers.

So after some diggin around and calling a few people I found out that the Ford Pinto ones do fit for sure.

Part number: ARP 151-2801 You will need 2 sets as they are sold in sets of 6 and you need 8.

Why would you not be able to use the 300ZX FW bolts? That is the Flywheel I am using so it makes sense to use the 300ZX bolts.

Your bolting up the 300zx flywheel to the VH45 engine and the engine is what will dictate what sort of bolt you need. And there are not to many upgrades for the VH! :)

You can...but I ended up spending more on 8 OEM 300zx flywheel bolts from my local Nissan dealership than I could have gotten the ARPs for.

I figure this question is best suited for this thread and not for starting my own....
I'm sure this is a silly question but regardless I don't know the answer....

Is there something special about clutch and flywheel bolts that should make me order them specifically from Nissan or ARP or can I just order bolts that fit the general bore thread pitch and so on?

The strength of the bolts. And really the ARP ones arent that expensive anyway.

I believe SR bolts would work, but I've never seen them much lower than 50 bucks...

I just received ARP bolts from Summit. They are for Ford 4.6/5.6. Set of eight is $38.96 + tax and shipping. I carefully checked the shoulder and thread length=perfect. The only diff is they are 12 point instead of 6.

I bought mine at home depot for for 16.00. They are a grade 8 bolt. The size is m10 thread pitch 1.0 mine are 30mm long. I needed longer ones than the stock Vh for the flywheel. It is a light weight fidanza unit, so you may not need longer ones I don't know about the stock 300 flywheel I don't have one.

You seriously might want to reconsider this, there is no grade 8 metric hardware, there is 8.8 which is similar to Grade 5 standard hardware. I would really go with 12.9 metric fastener in the case of a flywheel, though a 10.9 would probably be ok. I really don't think I would trust crown bolt/hillman (HD/Lowes hardware suppliers) hardware with a flywheel either

I was thinking that, but the motor is not in the car or attached to the trans yet. I'll do more research and see what I come up with. Thanks for the heads up.

Seriously Bud.... I told you I was going out of the country for 3 weeks and you needed to pay before I left, not the day of. Your bolts were shipped out the day I got back.
