Never have I had so much trouble removing a dipstick tube. Is there a trick that I'm missing? Does it just fit with an o-ring and I just need to wiggle harder?

just find a bolt that's smaller than the ID of the dipstick hole, yet is larger than the ID of the dipstick tube itself... and knock it out from the inside

I'm not pulling the sump off. I only want to remove it so I can make exhaust manifolds. I'll try getting some lube onto the o-ring.

Didn't see it. If you're putting a non-turbo DE into a non-turbo Z31, it should just bolt straight up. Now when I say 'should', that is my 90% sure guess. Use Z31 engine mounts and brackets. When I put the DET into my non turbo Z31, One side bolted straight up and all I had to do with the turbo side was cut the mount off the crossmember to clear the turbo, then make a mount further forward. I swear if I had a turbo z31 to start with it would have bolted straight in.

All that said, I HATE the DE and DETT inlet manifold setup. This is why I went with the DET. It may take longer to change spark plugs, but rocker cover gaskets and injectors are so much easier to change on the DET engine.

For some reason, people think the DE or DET would be tight fit in the Z31. My boss has a Z32 and there is more room between the strut towers and the engine in my Z31 than his car.

If you've got any other questions, just ask. I might have done the conversion four years ago, but I still remember every detail.

There are some pics on my dodgy site: http://www.freewebs.com/chemicalrick/
