I just copied and pasted from the Q45 forum. Wasn't getting a response there and I need to figure this out.

I'm in the final stages of getting this VH45 put together, and running into a few minor "how do these go together" issues. Since I've never actually seen one put together, it's like putting legos together without directions.

I apologize for the horrible picture. I had to take it with my phone, but hopefully someone can recognize whether these are the correct tubes for the dip-stick. One of them looks bent (on the right), and the actual dip-stick doesn't want to slide into either. Both came in a bin of parts I got with the engine.

Second question, where does the alternator tensioner mount? Does it bolt onto the timing covers like the water pump/PS tensioner? I looked through all my parts and don't think I got one. A picture would be so helpful.

I meant to send you an email and ask if you happened to have any extra tensioners laying around you'd sell me. I know you've got a bunch of VH parts. I did send an email to one other guy on here who parts out Qs, but I'm not sure how many bolt on parts to the engine he saves.

I looked everywhere and think I got shorted this piece.

Hey Tecni....any chance you've got an extra tube and dip-stick I can buy from you? I just realized the one I've got is waaay shorter than the one in your picture. I don't think I've got the right one.

shoot me a email and let me know exactly which tensioners you need. I do believe I have an extra set but the bearings aren't in the best shape. I'm sure you can get the bearings for cheap and have them pressed in. I also have to heck on the dipstick tube.

My email is [email protected]
