There was a guy on ebay a while back who was selling a batch of VH45 billet crankshafts. I had his ebay user bookmarked, but my computer crashed.

Does anyone happen to have the info of this guy?

Pretty much all modern V8 cranks are made from a billet of metal?

The crank was for a VH41DE. I had emailed him because his auction wasn't clear as to what Q45 engine it would fit.

I see no purpose in getting another crank for the VH45DE unless it is part of a stroker kit.

The factory crank is very stout so there wouldn't be much benefit in upgrading, except in the case of building an engine for high rpm operation.

I know that the stock VH45DE crank is forged, but I would like someone to clarify if it is a twist or a non-twist forging.

Even under boost the stock bottom end is very stout. Like siju said the only reason youd want to "upgrade" is for higher RPM range... Seems like the stock crank can handle about any HP at 7300 RPM

I was just wondering, because he had them listed up for like 300$ (which is an absolute STEAL OF THE CENTURY) if they are truly machined billet cranks.

I am going to be using my VH45 in my rx7 as a roadrace motor, and it will be seeing 7000rpm for 15 to 20 minute sessions. I don't expect it to last long, because:A) I have a EFI wet kit that I will be pumping 150-200 shot to the motor B) it will be seeing 7000+ rpm's for 15-20 minute session after session on the road course.

Believe me, bro, I was ready to grab it if it was for a VH45DE. But, alas, it was for the shorter stroke VH41DE.

The last thing the G50 Q45 needs is less cubic inches. If I want less power, then I can always buy a 97-01 Q41.

Not really a hookup, but he was talking about how he got it nitrided from heat.au machine shop for what is a stellar price in the US.

I don't know of any sanctioning body that would be OK with N2O on track...

It's not going to be under any sanctioning body.I'm going to be running in a High Speed Touring event, which is basically one weekend a month where all of the street cars come out and drive around the track, while just going for good times.. no real "Races". No rules/regulations except that you pass tech.People bring stock saturns, hondas, and berettas, while others bring lingenfelter c6 z06's, ferarri 360 stratdales, and ford GT's.

I was out there on the 22nd of April, and there was a fox mustang with a forged 302 based 331 stroler who was running a 200 shot.

The track is hallett raceway, btw

that was one of my standard crankshafts. I did post up a while before regarding billet stroker cranks, however nobody was interested at the time
