I'm pretty sure the bellhousing is non removable fomr pretty much any automatic nissan and 90 % of the manuals, you'll have to get the whole forn half of the case and honeslty I don't think you cna buy just the case
buynissanparts.com has great OE parts prices and if your part isn't listed you can call them and they'l help you look it up

Actually the bellhousing is removable, it's 99% true for Nissan manual transmissions but not the Q45.

Thanks for your input.

thats correct, almost every nissan MANUAL transmission had a non removable bellhousing, but all the automatics did...

anyway, the number I got was 31301-51X08- HOUSING- CONVERTER

there were a few different part numbers, but that should get you to the right place. as far as i know every combination of Q45 bellhousings, torque converters, and transmission are interchangeable.

That # doesn't work in online parts ?? I entered 31301-51X08 with and without dash.

it woudlnt surprise me if its NLA, many of those parts havent been available for a long time....

heres every part number i could pull off the books

31301-51X08-
31301-51X09-
31301-51X12-
31301-51X84-

i wouldnt buy a new bellhousing, stock Q AT's are dime a dozen, just find one thats broken and take the bellhousing.

I see a couple of q45's in the Junkyard they would sell the bell for 20 bucks but I'd have to remove the entire engine. :inout:

I got a bit of a shock with this today actually. Undid all of the "bellhousing" bolts on my trans and pulled the end of the gearbox off :ohno:
 SO, now I've seen the inside of an automatic for the first time in person.. and I've seen some clutch packs!

PS, on my 1990 nissan patrol (shares the same box as a Q45, different bellhousing) the bellhousing IS removable. It just has to be unbolted from the INSIDE of the drive end housing.... i think. didnt get that far but saw the bolts there.
