here is the idea me and my brother came up with to adapt an RB25t gearbox to a VH45,basically mill 20mm off the front half of gearbox, use a 20mm thick piece of aliminium plate for adaptor, drill 16mm hole to place input shaft of the auto trans through and mark out holes, then the same for the RB25t gearbox,i had to mill some clearances on the side of the RB25t gearbox for the 14mm bolts and washers, hey presto this was very easy and the hardest part was maching out the final center for which i made up this real dodgy trepanning tool that wasnt pretty but did the job, also important was the now two pairs of dowels that i had to drill as well, note i have already machined up a steel flywheel that uses a standard single plate solid center clutch thats 9 1/2 inches ,this was all done on a tight budget-the plate cost about $200 NZD and about 4 hours of my own time.sorry the gearbox is actually a 300zx gearbox, identical internals to the RB25t box just that funny shifter crap on the back,we found these boxes to be very strong in standard form,my brother has one behind his 640hp MRK2 escort which managed a 9.68 on the quarter,oh this is mated to a FJ20,also using a single plate solid center clutch with a 3000 pound pressure plate.
