It is possible and has been done before IIRC. What's listed above is what you would need.XJared wrote:It's definitely possible with a properly made adapter and using the 350Z clutch and flywheel.
Do you possibly have a name or link to who did it on the VH? Would like to see that one.car nut wrote:

The reason people use the Z32 trans is because they're stronger (although they do suffer from weak synchros in 2nd and 4th) and they have taller ratios then the 350Z/G35 6 speed. Most of the cars these motors are swapped into have short final drive ratios (4.08), so the extra gear is basically worthless. If I were you, I'd look into a stronger transmission like a T-56. That would be sweet with a VH.

Wasn't much of an actual adapter plate though, the guy basically set up 3 separate pieces of aluminum with different bolt holes to mate the two. Wasn't pretty, but it did work (although I personally don't feel its strong enough without being a solid piece).
EDIT: Here zer...crude
Like I said, it's crude, but he was able to support the full weight of the transmission with it. He said he made it that way because it was cheaper and he doesn't have a machine shop, but I'm sure someone like elwesso would be able to get a better one made.

Yeah that was me and I don't recommend that route. I've decided to weld the bell-housing on since when placing the engine and trans in the car I noticed a gap between the two signaling that the two shifted that's why I pretty much let that post die.car nut wrote:I actually think I saw it right here a few months back.
