So I'll start out with where I am in my project (the beginning...and I'll ask for help from there).

I have a 240sx and a Q45 on the side of my house. I also bought a 300zx TT manual transmission and now this is my problem.

I don't know if I didn't search or read enough but I need to buy an adapter plate (I know of the John Dixon but have no idea where to order if from). I saw that "elwesso" was making a plate but haven't checked back to see if you completed it (if you did can you send me a pm and what your price is). Next I read on Ellizautoworkz that you need to do some modifications to the following:

Engine cross-member Frame rail Tension rod bracket Brake booster re-location

and you need to adjust your steering rack.

If someone can enlighten me on any of this (I'll keep checking out the forum but so far, no luck) Oh and if someone that has fabricated mounts for their car already would be willing to make another set and sell them or let me know their dimensions etc I would appreciate it.

Any pointers or help at all would be great.

Thanks guys..

How soon until you start your project? I'm moving everything around now and making space to start mine. Which then wes's adapter plate while be ifnished a sI'm test fitting. And I'll also be mkaing copies of motor mounts, and as well as exhaust mani's to send off to get made.Granted all of this will probably take 6months minimum to get made I'll have mine finshed very soon. Looking for a donor q45 at the moment.

Well I have some of the parts right now, but I didn't want to jump into something that will then end up taking a long time to finish. By all means I don't think this is a quick and easy swap, but I don't want 2 cars ripped apart on the side of my house, and in my garage. When you start your project and when you get your stuff done let me know.

Florida240sx,

Completely off topic, but I noticed you were from Deland. You happen to know Macy Noble?

Car: lots of unique hot rods, and customs, with modern engines, and a good truck to pull the trailer.

Honestly, For ease, Mazworx adapter is less then 500, and with it you can use the Z flywheel clutch starter. The electrical is a good part toget done first, while aquiring parts. Search, and you'll find numerous s/vh swaps with info.

To answer these...

No - No mods needed at all

Depends - If I choose to use the VH Alternator I will need to modify the framerail, if I use the KA alternator with a custom bracket, I won't.

No - No mods needed

No - Stock booster in my car in the stock location, however if I want to change the #7 spark plug I need to pull the booster.

No - Steering rack is in stock location.

This is all in my S14. My hood closes and I'm using the stock VH Intake Manifold and an unmodified VH waterneck. I did need to cut the stucture on the underside of the hood for clearance, but if fits with about 1/8" of clearance between the hood and the top of the motor, and 3/16" of clearance between the pan and the framerail. My car has solid mounts so I'm not worried about engine movement. Also, to make the stock waterneck fit I needed to lower my crossmember by 1/4" with some billet spacers I made. My car is a 100% drag car so I'm not worried about the geometry of the front suspension being altered.

My Z on the other hand... that's a whole different story.
