VH41DE with V160 6th speed box

Dear All

I would like to change the VH41DE auto into manul box.

I have search for 350Z and 300zx gearbox etc but its not available in local. And checking around for the cheapest freight has failed. Its way too costly for the freight and tax to import the gearbox in.

As such, my mechani proposed to me to mate the VH41DE with the V160 6th speed gearbox. Its a 2JZGTE supra box. I did not really like the idea of nissan and toyota working together. But since there is no choice, and my car its aready a hybriad, so I think I can give it a try. In addition, I know the V160 box is much stronger than both the 350 & 300 z box. It should be able to handle up to around 800hp... so as I am planning for twin turbo, I guess I should have a good box to start with.

So my method will be: 1) adaptor plate2) custom flywheel3) 2JZGTE twin plate clutch4) 2JZGTE V160 6 speed box

Anyone, please advise if this is possible.

Please refer me to any site if there is anyone who have did this.

Actually they are Getrag, not Toyota made if that makes it easier. They are very strong but also expensive. Used ones on the Supra boards are in the $2500 range. You can pick up Z32 5spds for as little a $100 in the US.
