g'day so my project is well and truly under way now! woo :) engine is out of half cut and now in the garage. clutch and flywheel sorted thanks to ebay special... cheap and nasty but it will do the job. also scored a second hand link g4 with all the gear off ebay at a good price. have been playing around with the maps as there is no base map to choose from for these engines so been slowly researching and trying to get some sort of configuration together. have found a ignition map on here to work with but i think it is nistune and its load is the TP. I want to use my MAP sensor for the load so could anyone point me in the right direction to convert this?? im wanting to wire this up and start the engine in the garage before i throw it in for ease of ironing out the kinks.

Also with the gearbox z32 conversion, ill make my own adapter plate but with the z32 flywheel mounting i need to place the 3mm flex spacer behind it for proper z32 starter engagement correct? just need to clear this up!

havnt selected my turbo yet but looking between a to4z,gt40, or gt42 and thinking of mounting it under the passenger seat with a electric scavenge pump to keep heat out of the engine bay as i want to do time attack with this car.
Anyones insight on turbo selection or any of my ideas would be greatly appreciated guys and girls :)

GO VH power mad s*** haha

also going to use s15 injectors as they are 480cc and will bolt straight into the fuel rail. i have 6 in my rb25 atm and the car runs sweet with them, not sure bout the fuel regs but, what power can these support?

i used 8 series 6 batty secondary injectors and ran up to 15psi before engine died
when i mounted the vh45 into my R32 i pretty much didnt bother with any dash wiring, just used a oil and water gauge, i used a Link G4 to run the motor
we used a TA45 garrett turbo first then got hold of a turbo off a Cat C12,it looks like a big yellow lemon stuck to the side of the motor but screams like you woulnt believe.

Hey holeset I've read a few of ur posts about issues u were having with bearings, is ur motor goin now? Also seen ur vids on you tube man I was impressed. Where is the best place for oil feed for the turbo? cause wasn't this the cause of ur bearings spinning? Yeh the turbo in the videos is defiantly a big bastard

not going just yet but in the process of feeding the main bearins directly off the oil pump and also going to underdrive the oil pump a little to drop pressure down about 10pounds and try to increase the flow, will be looking at the oil feed in the next few weeks so i will keep you updated of where i run and you can see what you reckon,as its coming into winter here and most our racing season is up should have some more time to get it going, its a matter of juggling home jobs at work and doing actual work without getting caught ha ha,just noticed the turbo has got some major oil seal problems as well,i suppose thats what i get for scabbing a turbo out of the scrap pile from my brothers work,so hopefully in next month or so it should be a runner again.

feeding the mains directly is getting serious! keep me posted man very interested. Majority of nissan engines have tight clearances... between 1 to 1.5 thou. flicking through the fsm the vh is in this category, alot of high hp rb builds run a 2.5 though mains clearance and a higher oil pressure but i doubt anyone makes higher clearance bearings for the vh, but a crank grind could be a option? Hav u got any more info on ur fuel system u use??? ie did u use stock fuel rail and regs? not sure which injectors u r talking bout.
im aiming for round the 300kw mark with 8 psi as it will be a street car and already struggles to keep straight in second at 230kw and 245 tyres haha light a** 32's gotta love em :chuckle:

on the lastmotor i got the clearances opened up and crank reground and this motor ran the bearings the worst of all three, every single big end had signs of damage and even mains looked pretty sad, fuel system is really basic, running a bosch 044 and a chinese fuel reg being fed from a surge tank with a holeey blue lift pump, stock fuel lines and stock rails, the secondary injectors from a FD series 6 rx7 are mounted using some little aliminium spacers with a small mod to the injector clamps and longer bolts,im pretty sure they around 850cc each,on 8psi you should be able to make at least an easy 320plus kw ha ha traction is going to be funny,my R32 runs 18x10.5 on the back with 255/35 and almost postive camber and lights up in 4th!with good wheel alighnment and suspension set up real easy to control traction with the throttle and keeps nice and straight, solid mount ya rear subframe makes a for a real hard ride but very postive feel

haha mmm maybe 8 pound might be to much for the the street...pfffft might start with 5 and c what it feels like. but either way im getting semi slicks ha.
have u considered a accusump setup to combat ur oil surge? ive herd good things and not too expensive. please keep me posted on what u will do i am very interested cause i can c myself running into the same issues! i started sorting out the wiring yesterday, im away for work for a week but after that im planning on the getting the motor started n/a with the link on the crate its sitting on to have a play around with the program but ill keep u posted as im sure i will hav some questions man!

Well its 2017 now, project started in 2011. It stalled for about 2 years as I moved around 3 states. Then changed careers, completely gutted and renovated a house but have still managed to chip along at this car. Its 'nearly finished' but could be that way for another while haha. Whats another year?! Anyway thought I'd throw up some pics of the progress. Changed plans. Instead of turbo charging I decided to use a rotrex charger as I wanted the option of removing the charger if need be. Charger mounting bracket not made yet but have design pretty much worked out and drive pulley sorted.
