I hear that the vh45de is relatively large and I have seen pics.Does anyone know if the vh41de is any smaller? and possiblythe dimensions.

Same blocks just different accessory mounting locations. A VH45 will fit in a 240 though as it's already been done.

yeah thanks for the info.

I have seen many pics of people with them in their and read about the stock exhaust manifolds not fitting.

Does anyone know of a strong motor that is relatively inexpensive and smaller than the vh45de? I have considered vq35de.

The blocks are different (though exactly the same size), and same goes with the heads.

It's 680mm from edge of head to edge of head, but the front covers of the VH45DE are slightly wider due to the VTC solenoid valve being in the front, giving the impression that the VH45DE is bigger. It isn't.

These differences have been covered long ago, the information is available here on nico... just spend some time browsing through and learning.

I'm sure you could find a newer more up to date high performance engine but it's going to cost you. The VH45's are a dime a dozen right now. I bought an entire Q45 on ebay for 456.00 that had bad hoses and injectors. Name another engine that puts out close to 300 hp & TQ for under 500 bucks...
