i see there are a number of nissans that have 8 bolt flywheelsca sr vg etci relise the vg may be best but whats a alternative, i cannot find one, i can get ca ones foir around $100 but they are 9"

can the vh ringgear be welded to a smaller flywheel? the vg one is smaller too isnt it?or do i get longer bolts and run the full flex plate behind the flywheel?will any high tensile bolts be ok? what grade should i get? as the auto ones seam very short

i have a rb26 osgikin triple plate lying around looking at the rear the plates and housing are attached buy around 30 m6x1mm bolts, be the flywheel face seams offset from the ringgear by around 20mm this may be an issure

i want to adapt the triple plate to a cheap flywheel is this a easy answer for a hight powered v8 clutch? im using a vg30 box which has the correct 24 spline shaft, but this offset and machining the bolt holes might upset the 3 individual plates on the input shaft?

i notice the vh-vg adaptors sold here is around 20mm thick, is that still locating in the pilot bush ok? i thought adaptors couldnt be used and a welding on the vh45 bell housing would be a better option?

im on a tight buget and have $2500 to spend in electronics so im not buying 1500 clutch kits...

cheers

I know on the adapter plate the pilot bushing is actually relocated to the flywheel spacer so that's covered.

Adapters have been used quite a bit to put different trannies on the VH. I know at least one guy did a T56, lots of Z32 5-speeds, etc. etc.
