Hey guys, allow me to clarify my problem, I have my car at a workshop to have an after market computer installed. They called me today and wanted the injector and igniter loom, but i dont have one for that engine.Personally i cant imaging it would be too difficult for me to make up the looms.8 injectors, loom, one side will have to be grounded, then the crank angle sensor loom, the 2 igniters, so a loom will have to made up for that. Right? That is basically all the computer needs.Has anyone made these looms up?

I have done it for various nissan engines.

The only problem is sourcing the correct plugs/connectors.

if you were in the states i'd donate a few cut up chassis harnesses to you so you could make a new harness...but shipping to aus would be killer.

Just a note, my VH41 is a JDM; I had it imported from Japan. I hope the loom connectors are the same.I will get some pics with measurements of the connectors probably today, or ASAP.

You can probably find all the correct plugs you need from a more common nissan of roughly the same age.

If you go to a you-pull-it type place you could probably get them from a pulsar or maxima or some such. Even mid 90's patrols use the same style of connectors.

I agree with what you say, but the guy at the workshop doing the wiring specifically said it should be a VH41 loom; I will see him tonight and run that by him.If this is the case I think I have an RB30t loom at home, I will have a look at it.Having said that I would prefer a VH41 loom. Will keep you all posted.

I was simply suggesting a source for plugs to make your own loom, not to use a loom from another engine.

The rb30 will use the old style square plugs. Unless your vh41 is particularly old then chances are it will use the newer style rounded/oval plugs.

You have 2 options. Source the correct plugs, (which can come from anywhere as long as they are the correct shape/type/no of pins) and make your own wiring to suit. Or get the original vh41 looms.

Yes i know, i just didnt realise the RB plugs were that different.Anyhow im just about to head over to the workshop where my car is and take some pics of the connectors for Carl.I will also look into your suggestion, but i will ask the mechanic first and see if he goes with it ie sourcing connectors/loom from another vehicle/car/model.Thanks guys, will keep ya posted

Ok, just a bit more clarity on the issue, i saw the mechanic and basically i need the connectors, (as was mentioned here) the connectors i need are the 3 at the back of the motor which plug into these, 6pin 8 pin and the small 4 pinThis is the pic of my motor today, so i need the loom which plugs into this.I pulled the crank angle senso and ignitor so i can get the plugs for these locally i think. As for the plugs at the back im not sure so i would be better off just getting the VH41 loom/plug for the back 3 connectors.Any thoughts?Perhaps i can get them off Carl?

Check Dataspares:http://www.dataspares.com/connectors_home.html

They have managed to find or identify every connector I've ever had issue with!

Tell me about it. The guy is super-helpful as well.It can be expensive. However he will send you new pins if thats just what you need.

That site is awesome, but I always wanted to find a vendor who would supply Nissan style ECU connectors. I know AEM has some supplier but they are not divulging for obvious reasons. I know that for the 8/16-bit JECS ECUs from the late 80's-90's are pretty much all the same for 4 cylinders and all the same for I6/V6/V8s so it would be cool to make some kind of DIY Plug-n-Play Nissan universal ECU community project. It seems like Apexi Must have a supplier since they make PnP ECUs too, but I wouldn' be surprised if they got theirs directly from JECS/Unisia/whatever that company is called.

Sorry to derail this thread.
