Hey Ive read through the first 8 pages of this forum. also have tried searching for rev and limiters with no hits (maybe im using the wrong terminology?)

Whats required to allow the vh41 to rev out to 8000rpm? (ive read some comments about the factory internals being able to be reliable up to 9000rpm).

just cams, valve springs and an ecu+tune?what kind of power can be made from just these mods. (incl intake and headers). Ive only seen a few dynos posted up here, a vh45 putting out 270hp standard. (i was hoping for a bit more!!)

Cheers

The ECU limits the redline. Until someone makes cams the powerband is only good to 72-7400.

It's not the HP that this engine puts out, it's the torque curve that makes it desirable.

The plenum and runner length are too long they are tuned to 4,000 and 6,000 rpm. Figure a method to decrease runners to say 13" from 16.5" so the reflected wave arrives correctly for 7800 rpm.

What would be the effect of leaving the stock intake manifold and getting cams to move the powerband up?
