elwesso wrote:To Geoff.. You need to use a spacer, but its the one that is already behind the stock VH45 flexplate.. It works fine witht he stock Z32 flywheel bolts.. For the second, yes thats essentially the same except instead of being a "half moon" its more of a full circle.

I have some pics, ill see if I can dig them up..

I did not hear from the machine shop today, so Im guessing monday or tuesday.. I'll call them monday and get a status update...
ok. i think you have me sold on it...
the hardware you listed, do we need to source those ourselves, and do we ourselves have to weld the bolts to the back of the plate or is that already done for us?
final question. what starter is everyone using? i didnt realize that it was such an issue,, i thought i could just use the stock q45 starter in the stock location with the stock z32 flywheel.? yes or if no what do i need?

Wes, give me a call, so i can talk to you about monies and such. 602.475.7444

No I provide all the hardware, I just like being as open as possible with this kind of stuff so theres NO surprises for anyone... You'll know exactly what you got, where it was purchased, and such...

I will probably offer a pre-welded version or a non welded, for those who are overseas to help with shipping... Its not a big deal for me to weld them, and I figure anyone who's putting a manual behind a VH45 its probably not a big deal either... :)

This setup is designed to use the stock Z32 flywheel.. The main reason you cant use the Q45 starter is because the notch on the bellhousing for the Z32 trans is in a different place...

cool, i was just wondering on why you listed the hardware. and also, welding is not an issue, but a pre-welded, test-fitted adapter would be slightly more comforting when throwing a couple hundred bucks or more at it..

so what is everyone doing for a starter?

I did not take any pics of the plates because they are not officially done.... but from what I saw they are AWESOME.. I almost wish I had this good of a quality piece in my car, these are much better than what I did before... Before they were done with a torch, a mill and so on... These are all CNC machined, laser cut, the whole 9 yards... My machine shop has done an impeccable job and I think you guys will be impressed when you receive your product.

Shoot me an email or a phone call.. Email is in my profile, phone is on Q45.org

Geoff, if you want a plate I have one more on this run.. My machine shop said they like to make runs of 5, and overall that works pretty well for me, knowing what quantities I have to buy from McMaster...

Well since my machine shop has all of the info in their CNC machines, every following run should take about a week... I will probably go ahead and have them make another 5 so I have some in stock, after these are shipped out... :)

These plates are being shipped on monday.. I was not able to get them out on friday, I am really sorry... However, they are all done, so all I have to do is put them in a box and slap a label on them!!!

This is the first batch, so I called it the "prototype" sets..

It seems I have enough people to do another run, because I have to order everything in groups of 5..

If its a "prototype" then you can expect issues usually.
Pretty funny -it looks like you are gonna sell more of the "prototypes" then the finished version.
