So I'm trying to amass parts for my VH project and I'm looking at radiators. I've found that a stock Q45 Radiator has it's inlets/outlets on the top right and bottom left. In my searching I haven't been able to find a radiator made for the S13 or S14 that had the openings in those places.

So this leads me to believe that I'll have to do some kind of cross over radiator piping similar to what SR owners use when they keep the stock KA radiator. I'm looking to use an Aluminum radiator that is larger than stock and probably made for a KA so that I'll be able to run the upper hose as if it were stock and then make a custom lower one.

But, this is all speculation at the moment and I'd like to get some other opinions on the matter. Thanks.

with a bit of slight grinding you can convert the lower inlet to the same side of the engine as the upper outlet.i used a cheap full aluminum radiator from just-intercoolers that was supposed to be for a r32...works just fine but is slightly taller than the standard s13.

I purchased a Koyo for a KA and had the lower outlet moved to the drivers side by a local weld shop. (My AL welding skills aren't developed well enough yet)

I could have done what Carl suggested, but I wanted the retain the cross path that the factory Q rad setups use. Having the inlet and outlet on the same side of the radiator inefficiently uses the core. I didn't want heat to be an issue at all... Overkill? Maybe.

eh, def overkill imho...the car stays at a steady 80c when running and in traffic the fan kicks on for about 10 seconds then off again.i have a cross flow style radiator in my s14 to accomodate the clutch fan and the crossover bit was a pain in the *** to do.

The other consideration is the intended usage of the car.

With a street car there is a lot of airflow through the radiator with extended part throttle low RPM operation. Occasional full throttle usage...

In my case, I get part throttle high RPM for a few seconds during burnout, then full throttle usage for 12 seconds, then idle for a few minutes, then repeat... the fan is my only true airflow between runs, I need to use as much of the core as possible.

Griffin domestic xflow, i think the number 26672-1 real cheap and just the right size, a little modding is needed to the inlet and outlet on the vh but no big deal, also taurus fan. I have trouble maintaining operating temp with the fan on and can drive with it off for a while and hover around 195 if i dont get on it.
