Can we please sticky this thread as a place for all VH engine related pictures and/or scans of articles can be kept ? That way all users can contribute their images and we can build a good archive of solid info that stays immediately accessible here at Nico !

I found just today that I was looking for that 'once around the block' article with the cross section diagram & writeup, and took forever to find it cos it was posted in a thread a while back.

Here's a small cut-away of the VH45DE.

Does any one have a larger version of this image?

Thought I'd post this up to share. A gentleman from New Zealand e-mailed me seeking information about wiring the VH engine, after having unsuccessfully tried signing up here to Nico.

He's putting a VH41DE into a GT40, and while waiting for the car to arrive via slow ship from Sweden, he went to work on tidying up his engine & e-mailed me a pic of his work.

I must say, this is the sexiest looking VH I've ever seen! I can't resist posting this up here on his behalf! Great work Neil!

Anyone know what gives the engine and compresors the dark color? It looks kinda like anodizing, but then Im thinking maybe they are magnesium parts.... or some kind of plating..

^^ That's the VRH35Z, which we know has a magnesium block... but there's no information available about the turbo or any other bits.

I know that IHI made the RX6D turbos that went on the Honda F1 turbo race cars in the 80s, which were insane quality turbos (1200hp+ from a 1.5 V6 anyone)... stainless steel turbine housing, and also a very dark compressor housing. I suspected they may be magnesium myself, but could also be dark anodising. Would be worth investigating.

Found a couple more to add. The one engine I found for sale online, it sold for $25k. Not bad considering one could put it into a $5k Z32 and have $30k invested in a car that would spank $200k+ cars.

Heh T45, nothing on that Indy motor appears to bear any resemblance to the VH... it must have some sick heads! The 3d model of the engine you posted appears to be of a VRH35ADE, or possibly the VRH50ADE (though the intake detailing looks different.)

Interesting how all the race motors are using top feed injectors instead of side feed.

VRH50A:5.0 liter14:1 compression! (W O W)(Can anyone translate the rest of those specs please?
