Guys,

Can you share some rebuild tips? I'll be getting my block back from the MS soon, & will start rebuilding this thing soon. Will be a stock rebuild with .25 over bearings, re-using pistions.

Thanks!

find all relative taps and go through all major threaded holes ie-headbolts etc
get a good hand soap (no grit at all) some small bottle brushes and clean every nook and cranny, despite blocks going through wash baths there is almost always gunk stuck in oil returns etc,and just clean off with ya hose then blow down with an air gun straight away.
then if you can double check all your clearances(depends on how much you trust your machinist)

Use compressed air to blow out all oil and coolant passages in the block and the heads. You wouldn't want a small chunk of something destroying your whole build. Ask me how I know that.......!

^^^^ times 1000! The machine shops are good but dirty places. Sometimes things get missed.

Also get yourself a tube of really good lube to use. The engine is only as good as what you do to it and use in it.

Make sure you follow the FSM torque specs to a tee... They are there for a reason.

and the biggest thing... TAKE YOUR TIME! I've seen people rush through a build only to miss something and screw it all up in the end.

Good luck with it and let us know how it goes.
